Key points
IFRA standards
The International Fragrance Association sets standards that restrict or prohibit fragrance materials based on safety assessment.
California-compliant option
Available on request: formulations that also meet California regulations, among the strictest in the world for fragrance and air care products.
Calibrated intensity
Safety also means restraint: intensity is set for spaces occupied all day.
Fragrance safety in occupied buildings
Commercial buildings are occupied by many people for long periods, so fragrance safety matters. The fragrance industry’s main safety framework is set by IFRA, the International Fragrance Association. Its standards restrict or prohibit specific materials based on safety assessments by the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM).
All PrimeScents fragrances are made to IFRA standards and are alcohol-free. Where a building needs a higher level of assurance, we can supply formulations that also comply with California regulations, which set some of the world’s strictest rules for fragrance and air care products, including limits on volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Few scenting providers can offer that option.
Built for risk assessments
Facilities and workplace safety teams need evidence, not assurances. IFRA-compliant fragrances, with safety data sheets available on request, are straightforward to include in workplace risk assessments. Where your risk assessment or policies call for it, California-compliant formulations add a further level of assurance. Even coverage at restrained intensity completes the picture.
